Ramapolooza: ‘Po Records celebrates ComPOlation V CD Release

On Thursday, May 1, 2008 Po Records celebrated the release of its 5th Compilation CD. The event called “Ramapolooza” was held in The Pavilion on the campus of Ramapo College and featured a number of the bands on the CD including “Someone Say Something”, “The Plastic Revolution” and Ramapo’s own “The Front Bottoms” and “Chris Lombardi”.

“Even though the rain threatened to dampen the evening the band’s who performed were outstanding’ stated Professor Washington.

“I believe this CD is the best one we’ve released so far” says Professor Shirley A. Washington. The CD contains 15 tracks from both Ramapo student musicians and the best up and coming bands in the New York/ New Jersey metropolitan area and….. San Diego, California.” ComPOlation V showcases a diverse range of music including: Rock, Alternative Rock, Raggaeton, Hip-Hop, Asian Fusion, R&B, Punk and Emo.

The project was particularly interesting this year because the students decided to release the album on a Digital Download Card called a “dropcard” instead of the regular physical CD.
